At OrphaMed we focus on the research of new treatments for low prevalence illnesses, usually known as rare diseases (RDs), in the most direct and simplest way ever possible: analyzing with a pioneer technology (“ExviTech”) the effect of thousands of existing drugs directly on a patient's standard blood sample.

Our research model centers directly on the person, the patient, so that instead of working on transformed and animal cells we work as close as possible to the patient, directly on his/her freshly obtained biologic sample. This is translated in a greater results’ reliability and, therefore, a better correspondence between the effectiveness observed in the lab and the real one, once the drug has been administered to the individual. Consequently it is a much safer and shorter system for obtaining new treatments to fight against these diseases.
